Marietta Square

The Marietta Square has a rich heritage, but a progressive culture also flows through it—historic architecture and brick sidewalks serve as a backdrop for undiscovered art galleries, hot new restaurants, neighborhood gathering spots, and great shopping.

Making a Rich History Consistent

After a thorough analysis, however, these assets, despite their energy and excitement, were not the Square’s true brand. The issue: Inconsistency. There was no consistency in look, messaging, or colors used throughout
the Square. Even what the area was referred
to by residents, visitors, and business owners was inconsistent.

Engaging the Community

To kick off the project, id8 headed out into
the Square itself to see what its people had to say about their community. We conducted interviews with community historians as well as the “man on the street.” As ideation began, the bricks that pave the streets and serve as the foundation of many buildings emerged as the perfect imagery to merge the history and progress of the Square together into a strong, united brand.

IN-TOWN CULTURE WITH SMALL TOWN CHARM

From that idea, the new Marietta Square logo was created to coherently communicate a wide range of offerings—everything from farmers markets to fine dining—yet showing the connection between them because they can all be found in the Square. This logo
helps build the Marietta Square message with the help of one strong vision, identity, and statement: A uniquely authentic city center where you can enjoy in-town culture with small town charm.

Smart. Strategic. Authentic. Honest. Effective. Fresh. This describes the team at id8. The size of this agency allows for direct collaboration with the brains that drive the firm, yet the breadth of talent allows for professional creativity and
 perspective for great work.
