Package Brand Case Study
Clean Wash
ENT surgeon and U.S. Army veteran Dr. Patrick Melder founded ChitoRhino. Their product, Clean Wash, provides all-natural ear, nose, and throat products using chitosan. Chitosan is a plant-based anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory ingredient. They came to id8 to address their new package brand design.

UNIFYING THE BRAND AND PACKAGING
They needed to differentiate the brand. It needed to stand out among the overcrowded health and wellness space on national retail chain shelves. We focused the Clean Wash vision on sharing their unique story. They needed an eye-catching approach. id8’s packaging strategy included developing a simple, identifiable mark that unites many product SKUs with one voice. The packaging design utilizes a brightly colored palette with a refreshing splash graphic. The look further reinforces a unified and exciting brand.
CREATING A NEW PACKAGE Brand TO APPEAL TO LARGER RETAILERS
Clean Wash products began by selling in local stores. They wanted to expand into larger retailers including CVS, Walgreens, and Walmart. To sell in these stores, Clean Wash needed new packaging that was retail-ready. They needed a package brand that would entice shoppers to buy the line of products offered.

NEW BRAND and PACKAGING BRING An INCREASE IN SALES AND INTEREST
Since launching the new brand and packaging, Clean Wash has seen a 300% increase in sales. This is true on both their website and through Amazon. CVS agreed to test the new Clean Wash products in stores across the United States. And three more large retailers have reached out to express interest in purchasing and selling Clean Wash products in stores.
